I actually decided at a very early age, they actually had a program where they had you hook up with a mentor in a field you thought you might be interested in. And I was hooked up with a couple of people in the dental field that really inspired me. And at that point, I thought this is something I could see myself doing, I love people, and I was strong in the sciences, and I thought at that point that it would be a career that I would enjoy. What I find most rewarding is really just being able to change people’s lives. Obviously, we’re focused on helping them and improving their smiles and getting them to optimal dental health.
But really the relationships that I have really getting to know each of the patients as a person and sitting down and really listening to them, that to me, is very rewarding. And actually watching through the years, I have patients that I’ve seen when they’re younger and then all of a sudden they get out of the chair and I look up and wow, they’ve grown a couple of feet and they’re participating in athletics. Or I have ones that all of a sudden, they’re getting married and I remember seeing them as young kids. But, it’s really been a blessing to be a part of their lives, and I love the personal aspect, too.
