I love the laser dentistry. I love it on the restorative aspect of fillings, but it also enables me to contour tissue. Many times we'll have patients of any age. That it's so nice not to have anesthetic, and go out and having everything numb.
For our young patients it is a game changer. I have people that specifically will come over to us just because they want the experience to be good for their kids. We recently had a little five-year old that was in, and he'd been to a couple of offices. Had a little fear because of the needle they were bringing out. And with us, it's such a simple procedure.
I talk with the kids and just tell them, it's just a little squirt gun. It's a little water that comes out. And I explain things, show that to them. And what I love is we also have virtual vision glasses. And the kids, a lot of times, will put Disney or Nickelodeon on, and put that on. And as long as they can hold open wide, we go in and take care of it, and it's comfortable for them. And I think the parents are more amazed than anyone.
Many comfortable procedures that we do with the laser, and it's a real nice alternative. It also sterilizes the tooth, which is great. It etches the tooth so we get a better bond. It just takes decay. So whereas with a hand piece, a lot of times more tooth structure is taken, it's very non-invasive. Comfortable. And no shots, or needles, or numbness afterwards.
I'd like to welcome any of the patients that are fearful or have slight anxieties. The new technology makes it so comfortable. And with our caring, compassionate team, it really puts patients at ease. They know that we really do care about them as a person. We care about their comfort, and we do everything we can to make it completely comfortable. So we'd be delighted to help you.
- There’s no drill involved, so there are no weird smells, sounds, or sensations.
- Pinpoint precision means that less healthy tooth structure has to be removed.
- Treatment takes just a few minutes.
Get Your Smile Back Painlessly by Repairing Tooth Decay
The dental laser is one of the greatest inventions of modern dentistry. Laser treatment allows Dr. Ross to perform many procedures quickly and painlessly that used to require drilling or cutting.
Filling a tooth is a good example of this:
- To place a filling, Dr. Ross first uses a low-power dental laser to remove the decay. That means you don’t have to endure the drill and all the sensations that go along with it.
- In a matter of seconds, the laser will make quick work of tooth decay, leaving as much original tooth structure in place as possible.
- Then we sculpt tooth-colored composite resin into place to fill in the area that was just cleaned out.
Your new filling will blend in beautifully with the rest of your teeth, and no one will be the wiser that you have one. Just as important, you will not have to deal with any drilling. Most patients are happy when we tell them that the laser takes the place of the drill when filling teeth.
